Meet Laura Brittingham.
Tenured People leader turned Leadership coach with roots in Psychology and research.
Laura is based in Westfield, NJ with her husband, son and energetic labradoodle. Her happy place is with a good book on the beach but she also loves a good city day to remind her of her NYC decade. She’s an avid home-cook and will happily chat all things building and maintaining a kitchen garden.
The roots of Laura’s people-centric coaching philosophy grew when studying Psychology at University of Pittsburgh. Over a decade of work between Psychological research and the HR and Recruiting spaces helped grow her belief that not only is coaching a type of ‘therapy for business’ but it’s something that every working professional can and should benefit from. Laura was driven into this space early by a passion for deeply understanding what drives individuals and using that knowledge to help them live a happier and more fulfilling life. Discovering the practice of coaching has allowed her to lean into this passion and create that alignment in the way people work.
Bringing these roots to bloom, Laura adds years of experience from the operator seat to her coaching practice, having scaled her own team and strategically scaled an organization from 50-500+ people. She has been up close and personal with managers and leaders who were experiencing leadership for the first time, experienced leaders coming in and adjusting to a new set of values and expectations and supporting existing leaders through constant change and development.
While she found great purpose and excitement growing the People function in a way to strategically support a scaling business, she ultimately found that the most rewarding work was directly supporting and coaching leaders through change. This passion led to the formation of PeopleIQ.
Values
Laura strongly believes that the best work done together happens when values are aligned. Whether it’s in the recruiting space, HR support or even finding the right therapist (or coach!) - she’s witnessed aligned values lead to great success and misaligned values lead to painful failures.
